Carefully inscriped across the front of the heart-shaped locket is the Welsh word Cariad, meaning love, beloved or sweetheart. The locket contains rare Welsh gold.
The locket hangs freely from a silver 22" (55.8cm) chain and the heart face measures 2cm high and just over 2cm wide, which can hold a memento measuring 16mm by 16mm.
